Workers of the Kragujevac weapons maker Zastava Oruzje entered the factory's central ammunition storage on Thursday, the 11th day of their strike, dissatisfied that the government has not addressed their problems.

"After we made significant progress in talks with government officials two days ago in Belgrade, nothing has been done to make the agreement concrete," said union leader Dragan Ilic.

He told Tanjug that the workers were compelled to make this move after union representatives were unable to contact government or ministry officials for the past two days.

According to him, in addition to Labor and Social Policy Minister Rasim Ljajic, who is acting as mediator in the negotiations, the meeting in Belgrade was attended by representatives of the ministries of defense, economy and regional development, foreign affairs and other government officials.

The workers are asking for their April salaries, and demand that the government solve problems related to the factory's status, future and investments, as well as the law on the defense industry.

They have been protesting at the weapons storage since May 23, while production was halted on May 25.
