Sljivancanin arrives in Belgrade

The former officer of the Yugoslav People's Army, Veselin Sljivancanin, arrived in Belgrade on July 7 after the Hague tribunal decided to release him early, his lawyer Goran Petronijevic stated.

The former officer of the Yugoslav People's Army, Veselin Sljivancanin, arrived in Belgrade on July 7 after the Hague tribunal decided to release him early, his lawyer Goran Petronijevic stated.

However, Petronijevic did not wish to disclose any information about Sljivancanin's arrival in Belgrade.

Sljivancanin has served two thirds of his 10-year prison sentence for crimes against the Croats in Vukovar in 1991. Sljivancanin was arrested and extradited to The Hague by the Serbian authorities in 2003.
