Road construction workers who staged a protest in front of the Serbian government building on Tuesday from noon to 4 p.m. announced that all protest activities would focus on Corridor 10 unless the results of the Tuesday meeting turn visible by the end of the week.

The Serbian government should adopt decisions at its Thursday session that would enable the problems of the road construction companies within Nibens Group to be solved, companies' representatives stated.

Road construction workers who staged a protest in front of the Serbian government building on Tuesday from noon to 4 p.m. announced that all protest activities would focus on Corridor 10 unless the results of the Tuesday meeting turn visible by the end of the week.

President of the Independent Trade Union of Road Builders of Serbia Sonja Vukanovic stated that workers would focus all protest activities to Corridor 10 unless the results of the Tuesday talks become visible by the end of the week. Representatives of the Serbian government and Nibens Group companies conferred on Tuesday over problems which the road construction companies are facing.

Around 500 road construction workers of the Nibens Group staged a protest outside the government headquarters on Tuesday because of the difficult situation they are in. Backed by the Independent Trade Union of Road Builders, Nibens Group employees demand from the government to unfreeze the companies' accounts, solve their problems, pay the missing salaries and allow them to work.

Road construction workers also demand that the Serbian government should ensure that banks, whose claims add up to over 70 per cent worth of the company's capital, take over the companies within Nibens Group as new owners and provide funds for operation or carry out a reorganisation of the group.
