Serbia sees surplus in trade with Montenegro

Serbia is Montenegro's biggest trade partner and the volume of their trade amounted to USD391.7 million in January May 2011, sixpercent more than in the same period of 2010, according to the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

Serbia is Montenegro's biggest trade partner and the volume of their trade amounted to USD391.7 million in January May 2011, sixpercent more than in the same period of 2010, according to the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

Serbia's exports to Montenegro totaled to USD333.6 million, marking an increase of 116.3 percent compared with the same period in 2010.

In the first five months of this year, imports from Montenegro to Serbia dropped by 29.4 percent, compared with the same period in 2010, amounting to USD58.1 percent. The trade surplus amounted to USD275.5 million.

Serbia's investments in Montenegro totaled EUR231.1 million in the period between 2003 and July 2010, with Telekom Srbija, Delta Holding, Knjaz Milos and Imlek as major investors.
