Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic said Tuesday that Serbia was not responsible for the new situation in northern Kosovo, but rather the administration in Pristina and the international institutions in the province.

Cvetkovic called on the international representatives in Kosovo to start talks with representatives of the Serbian government, which should result in calming the situation in the province, returning to the situation before the crisis and restoring the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.

Representatives of KFOR and EULEX must remain neutral and should not side with any party, as they are doing now by refusing to talk with the legitimate representatives of Serbia and by halting convoys with food, which can lead to a humanitarian disaster, Cvetkovic said in a statement issued by his office.
