Serbs from enclaves in Kosovo believe that any agreement is better than escalation of conflict and violence. They expect the interim agreement recently arrived at by representatives of the Serbian government and KFOR will contribute to stabilizing the situation in northern Kosovo.

President of the central Kosovo municipality of Obilic Goran Dancetovic said Serbs from the north should accept the agreement reached between the Serbian officials and KFOR.

I believe that any agreement is better than escalation of conflict and violence. I think that Serbs in northern Kosovo are mature enough to judge the situation as it is right now. I expect the agreement to be good for the Serbs in the north and for us here, Dancetovic told Tanjug.

Dancetovic said that people in Obilic, which is an enclave, were tense due to the developments in northern Kosovo over the previous days.

He also said that the current calm situation in the north of the province was good for everybody, adding that the real situation in the north and the one in the enclaves were quite different.

Dancetovic said that the Serbs in the enclaves were affected by Pristina's embargo on goods from central Serbia, because the stores in those places lacked noticeably the Serbian food products .

He explained that the enclaves got their supplies from northern Kosovska Mitrovica, and that the lack of products from central Serbia could cause serious problems with supplies.
