Vojvodina's Office in Brussels will be inaugurated on Oct. 10, Predrag Novikov, director of the Vojvodina European Affairs Fund has announced.

He told daily Dnevnik that the Brussels office was scheduled to open as part of the Open Days event that showcases Europe's regions.

He also said that Vojvodina's office would be part of the Serbian Mission in Brussels, and that it would start out with just two employees and the possibility of more if costjustified in terms of the money allocated by Brussels for Vojvodina's development.

"Every euro invested in Vojvodina's office must pay returns several times over," Novikov explained, adding that Vojvodina would deliver on its promise to get at least ten euros back for every euro invested in its Brussels office.

He added that expected fresh attacks on the authorities in Vojvodina in Serbia provoked by the office's inauguration, but dismissed them in advance as having no grounds.

He explained that a considerable number of EU funds operated exclusively on the regional level, which would enable the province to help develop other areas of Serbia.
