For the first nine months of 2011, the Serbian companies increased their exports by more than 28 percent year on year, Director of the Serbia Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA) said on Wednesday.
“This year, we have the best import- export ratio ever, as it currently exceeds 60 percent. That level is still insufficient, but this positive trend is certainly encouraging and in the coming years we can expect that a trade gap will be narrowed,” Laganin said at a news conference in the Serbian government.
He noted that for the first nine months of 2011, the export of household electrical appliances rose by 50 percent.
Underlining that more than 100 applications were submitted for the 2011 best exporter award, Laganin said that the award ceremony will be held at the Belgrade City Hall on December 7.
