First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic said that the construction works on the Zemun-Borca bridge should be completed by 2014, adding that this project provides further deepening of relations between Serbia and China as traditionally friendly countries.

Accompanied by Ambassador of China to Serbia Zhang Wanxue, Dacic visited the construction site of the Zemun-Borca bridge and wished Chinese workers a happy Chinese New Year.

He stressed that cooperation between the two countries may be even better, especially in times of economic crisis.

The strategic orientation of our country is to further develop relations with China, said Dacic.

The construction of the bridge began in October 2011 , while the deadline for completion is October 2014.

The value of the project is €170 million, of which 85% is from a loan by China's Exim bank.

The bridge built by Chinese company CBRC will be 1482 metres long.
