The company Gorenje already has factories in Valjevo and Stara Pazova, and with the opening of a new washing machine factory in Zajecar, Gorenje factories in Serbia will employ a total of over 1,500 workers.

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic and Regional Development Verica Kalanovic attended today in Zajecar the putting into work of a Gorenje plant for production of sanitary equipment and washing machines.

Kalanovic stated that this is the third plant of Slovenian Gorenje in Serbia, which will employ 300 workers, and stressed that this is the biggest industrial investment in the eastern part of the country.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the factory will be very important for the development of the entire region, and expressed confidence that this investment will be an incentive for other investors to invest in eastern Serbia.

The company Gorenje already has factories in Valjevo and Stara Pazova, and with the opening of a new washing machine factory in Zajecar, Gorenje factories in Serbia will employ a total of over 1,500 workers.

The company has recently started expanding its production facilities in Valjevo, where it is building a new hall and investing another €20 million and plans to hire 400 new workers.

Over the last six years, Gorenje has received support through an incentive programme by SIEPA and the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development
