Minister of Education and Science Zarko Obradovic today opened the 9th international education fair entitled EDUfair at which over 80 exhibitors from 17 states will present their study and grant programmes.

Obradovic stressed that the participation of so many exhibitors shows they are interested in students from Serbia.

The Minister said that the decision on education and professional orientation is one of the most important decisions in everyone’s life and events such as this one can be of huge assistance to students.

US Ambassador to Serbia Mary Warlick said that over 1,500 Serbian students are currently enrolled in US universities, adding that last year around 700,000 foreign students attended American universities.

Warlick stressed that there are chances for acquiring scholarships and continuing education in the United States which should be taken advantage of, inviting visitors of EDUfair to stop by the stand of the United States, this year’s host country.

She said it is important that students use the opportunity to volunteer during their studies in order to get practice, as this can help them later on at their postgraduate studies.

Apart from Serbian universities, exhibitors at the fair are higher education institutions from Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, France, Greece, Croatia, Italy, Canada, Germany, Macedonia and Switzerland.
