Director of the Serbian Demining center Petar Mihajlovic has stated that mines and cluster ammunitions, the “heritage” from war, are found in 221 locations with 14 million square meters of area, in 16 municipalities.

The clearing of that surface will require the expenses between 14 and 20 million euros, Mihajlovic told Tanjug.

While pointing to numerous problems in demining, he has also reminded that beside the cluster ammunitions in southern Serbia, there are mine fields along the administrative line with Kosmet, planted after the year 2000.
