Leader of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS) Tomislav Nikolic commented Sunday on Serbian President Boris Tadic's advocacy of a stronger support for private business by saying that such statements are frivolous and offensive for the citizens of Serbia.

Leader of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS) Tomislav Nikolic commented Sunday on Serbian President Boris Tadic's advocacy of a stronger support for private business by saying that such statements are frivolous and offensive for the citizens of Serbia.

In a written statement for the media, Nikolic said that the results of the current government led by the Democratic Party (DS) are catastrophic for Serbia and its people.

"Thanks to the DS, Serbia is now the first in the region by the unemployment rate, inflation, the lowest pays and pensions, and the second in the world by the number of young people who left the country," he said.

Nikolic also noted that a total of 264,493 people lost jobs in the past four years, and that 130,000 small and medium enterprises were closed, whereas only Albania and Bosnia-Herzegovina are worse than Serbia when it comes to the level of corruption.

"Our industry has been destroyed and investors driven from the country by cumbersome bureaucracy," he said.
Nikolic reiterated that, if it won the election, the SNS would endeavor to bring new investments, open new work places and eradicate systemic corruption.
