Business and Creative Ladies awards presented

The Business Lady of the Year gold plaque awarded by a jury of the Business Reporters Club was presented on Wednesday to head of the Tetra Pak plant in Gornji Milanovac Indira Petrovic.

The Business Lady of the Year gold plaque awarded by a jury of the Business Reporters Club was presented on Wednesday to head of the Tetra Pak plant in Gornji Milanovac Indira Petrovic.

The Business and Creative Ladies awards have been presented annually for the past three years, sponsored by Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, and as part of the Successful Women of Serbia project by the Business Reporters Club.

Djukic-Dejanovic presented the award and said that those successful women were a model for the rest of the women in Serbia and that they hold a great resource that could make Serbia a better country.

The jury picked the women who stand out in their profession because of their success, creativity and innovation.

They achieved success in organizing and implementing projects related to production, economy, tourism, creation and promotion of domestic brands, science, acting, producing, literature, music and humanitarian work.

The Business Lady 2011 awards were also presented during the ceremony at the Serbian parliament.

The awards went to head of RICC from Prokuplje Milena Andjic, Director of AMR from Paracin Jasmina Radivojevic, owner ahd head of the Luna fashion company Biljana Jovanovic, Director of the Belgrade Institute for Rehabilitation Milica Lazovic and Director of Intermehanika Smederevo Ruzica Djurdjevic.

Gorica Popovic, an actor, producer and director, whose dedication to traditional handicraft helps preserve Serbian tradition, Vesna Dedic, a reporter who recently became a writer as well, authoring two bestselling novels, and Aleksandra Savic, spokesperson of the Belgrade Natural History Museum who helped preserve some indigenous fruit species, also received the Creative Lady 2011 award.

President of the Divac humanitarian organization Snezana Divac, the women of the Defence Ministry Art Ensemble Stanislav Binicki and Maja Milos, a young director whose film debut, entitled Klip, won the best film award at the Rotterdam film festival, were also presented with the award.
