Ban Ki-moon and Taci discuss events in Kosovo

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Kosovo's Prime Minister Hasim Taci discussed the latest events in Kosovo at the UN headquarters.
Taci informed Ban about the latest tensions in Mitrovica and the technical dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Taci's office said in a release.
During the meeting on Tuesday, Tacic thanked the UN and the secretary general personally on the UN's refusal to organize Serbian elections in Kosovo, says the release.
Taci said his vision and the vision of his government is the integration of Kosovo and the whole region into the EU and NATO, adding that he expects Kosovo will be a UN member country in the not too distant future, according to the release.
He also asked Ban to personally support the participation of Kosovo's athletes at the London Olympic Games this year.
During his visit to the United States, Taci also met with U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. A meeting with President Barack Obama was planned but did not take place.
