Today, the celebratory opening of the factory Fiat Automobiles Serbia has taken place in Kragujevac, as the joint project of the Serbian Government and the Italian Fiat, which is the biggest investment in Serbia in the last few decades, worth around one billion euros, and it is expected to give significant contribution to the recuperation of the national economy.

The grand opening has been attended by Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic and head of the Fiat-Chrysler group Sergio Marchionne, since on September 29, 2008, they were the ones to sign the contract on the establishing of the joint company, in which the giant from Turin holds 67% of the shares and the state of Serbia 33%.
