The Serbian dinar strengthened by four para on Tuesday, setting the official middle exchange rate as RSD 111.5224 per the euro, the National Bank of Serbia has said in a release.

The central bank did not intervene at the interbank foreign exchange market before the Easter holidays. Since the beginning of the year, however, it has sold a total of EUR 558.5 million to alleviate the excessive daily volatility of the dinar.

The dinar hit its lowest on April 6 this year, at RSD 111.7057 per one euro, while it was stronger on January 11, when the middle exchange rate was at RSD 103.6922 per the unit of the hard currency.

Compared to last month, the dinar went down against the euro by 0.6 percent, while it slid by nine percent viewed from a yearly perspective.

The indicative dinar-verus-dollar exchange rate was RSD 84.6277 per the U.S. dollar, the dinar going up by 0,3 compared to its last value.

Compared to last month, the dinar strengthened against the dollar by 0.1 percent, but is down by 17.2 percent on a year-on-year basis.
