Presidential nominee of the 'Choice for a Better Life' coalition Boris Tadic attended on Monday the signing of an agreement on cooperation between the French cement maker Lafarge and J&J company, which will help create 150 jobs in Beocin (northern Serbia).

Presidential nominee of the 'Choice for a Better Life' coalition Boris Tadic attended on Monday the signing of an agreement on cooperation between the French cement maker Lafarge and J&J company, which will help create 150 jobs in Beocin (northern Serbia).

The agreement will help the French company J&J open a production facility in Lafarge's business park, and thus invest EUR 1.6 million in the project.

After the signing, Tadic said that the idea for opening the business park in which other companies can launch their production and hire new workers illustrates great professional responsibility of Lafarge.

He called on all other foreign companies which bought companies in Serbia to take such a step, adding that the Serbian government will always back such responsible business practices.

Tadic said that Lafarge's arrival in Beocin is one of the best privatizations in Serbia, which shows that there is a bright side to the process.

The presidential candidate said that such projects help create jobs, which is the goal of each and every country.

General Manager of Lafarge BFC Costin Borc said that the investment of the J&J company is of great importance for Lafarge and the municipality of Beocin, not only because it will create new jobs, but also because it will boost Beocin's further growth.

Lafarge is the leading cement producer in Serbia with a 170-year-long tradition.

The agreement grants J&J 800 m2 for a production facility that will hire 150 workers.
