Representatives of the Union of Serbian physicians and pharmacists (SLFS) have decided to freeze the strike and return to the usual method of work.

Representatives of the Union of Serbian physicians and pharmacists (SLFS) have decided to freeze the strike and return to the usual method of work.

The decision was made by the Main Board of the Union of doctors and pharmacists of Serbia, the SLFS statement said Friday. Freezing the strike and the return to normal work does not mean that the union of doctors and pharmacists intends to give up their claims.

We tried everything within the law and we have the full moral right to turn tomorrow to the new administration and reiterate our positions, the announcement says.

The trade union of doctors and pharmacists stated that the Serbian government and Ministry of Health did not have the desire to listen to their arguments and try to find a common solution.

The members of the union went on strike with the observance of minimum work process on April 17, asking for the withdrawal or deferment of a regulation according to which salaries for employees in health care should be reduced by 10 percent from July 1.
