The Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) will propose to the new government a series of economic measures aimed at enhancement of the business climate and maintaining macroeconomic stability in the country, Tanjug learnt in PKS on Monday.

The economic measures would be implemented over a four-year period, from 2012 to 2016.

According to previous announcements from PKS, the starting points for a new macroeconomic framework until 2016 will cover reduction of public spending to around 35 percent of the GDP, as well as public sector reforms including those in the pension system, public enterprises and tax system.

The measures also include strengthening of competition and protection of consumers with a view to eliminating monopolies of any kind and creating instruments to back the new policy of investment incentives.

The macroeconomic framework needs to be based on removing the disproportionate relation between total production and consumption, local savings and the level of necessary investments, imports and exports which creates an unsustainable gap which is being covered by taking out loans for both the developed and underdeveloped regions.

According to PKS, disproportions are also present between the active and dependants, employees and the unemployed, employees in the administration and production sector and the number of employees and pensioners.
