Former Serbian deputy prime minister Bozidar Djelic, who was one of the candidates for the new president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), congratulated Suma Chakrabarti late on Friday on his appointment as the EBRD director.

EBRD shareholders have elected Sir Suma Chakrabarti as the new President of the bank for the next 4 years

Former Serbian deputy prime minister Bozidar Djelic, who was one of the candidates for the new president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), congratulated Suma Chakrabarti late on Friday on his appointment as the EBRD director.

In a telephone statement for Tanjug, Djelic expressed belief that the cooperation with the new EBRD president would be successful in the coming years and that it would bring benefits to Serbian citizens.

One of the two topics discussed at the EBRD annual meeting covered the appointment of the institution's director, and this was the first time that as many as five candidates, including Djelic, ran for the position.
