A total of 250,000 people visited 79th International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, Director of the trade fair Goran Vasic said on Friday. The 80th International Agricultural Fair will be held from May 18-24, 2013, with Croatia as the partner country.

A total of 250,000 people visited 79th International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, Director of the trade fair Goran Vasic said on Friday.

This year, the Novi Sad trade fair had the packed congressional and professional schedule, during which farmers could learn all about innovations in the domain of agriculture, Vasic said at a press conference held on the occasion of closing the event.

“During the trade fair, we hosted more than 50 economic and political delegations, which is yet another indicator of the status that this event enjoys,“ Vasic said, adding that the agricultural trade fair had 1,036 accredited journalists from Serbia and abroad. More than 20,000 people visited the fair through organized visits, Vasic underlined, adding that 54 companies organized the visit of their clients to the Novi Sad trade fair.

Austria was the partner country of this year's fair, which took place from May 12 -18, and Trade Advisor at the Austrian Embassy in Serbia Andreas Haidenthaler said that a number of economic delegation from his country had contacts with representatives from Serbia and the region. “We had a busy week with a rich programme. The trade fair was, in fact, an inter-regional summit of the ministries of agriculture,” said Haidenthaler.

The 80th International Agricultural Fair will be held from May 18-24, 2013, with Croatia as the partner country.
