Chemical Industry increased export in 2007

The field of chemical industry, production of rubber, plastic and minerals registered 31% larger export and 39.2% larger import in 2007.

According to the data of the Republic Statistics Institute, which were presented in the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, the value of total export of chemical industry reached 1.6 billion USD, while the value of import amounted to nearly 3.4 billion USD.

Chemical products, with 871.5m USD worth of sales on foreign markets, registered the largest increase in export - 36.3%.

Export of plastic and rubber products in 2007 amounted to 581m USD and it was 26.4% larger than in 2006, while the export of other minerals amounted to 185.3m USD and it was increased by 24%.

The largest growth of import - 42.4%, was registered in field of production of other minerals and it amounted to 341.5m USD, whereas the production of chemical products had largest import, which was increased by 40% and amounted to over 2.5 billion USD .

Import in field of production of rubber and plastic was increased by 38% and it reached 517.5m USD.

As far as individual products are concerned, the largest export was realized by the rubber products - 286.3m USD, and their share in total Sebia's export is 3.2%. The largest growth of export - 194%, was registered in production fertilizers.

in field of chemical industry, the largest was the import of medical and pharmaceutical products and it was worth 545.6m USD, while the import of fertilizers grew the most, by 63.4%.
