India and France on Monday closed a USD several billion worth agreement on building two nuclear power plants (NPP) in India, and the document was signed in the presence of French President Nicola Sarkozy and Prime Minister of India Manmohan Sing.
India and France on Monday closed a USD several billion worth agreement on building two nuclear power plants (NPP) in India, and the document was signed in the presence of French President Nicola Sarkozy and Prime Minister of India Manmohan Sing.
The agreement’s value is USD 9.3 billion, it was stated in New Delhi. That will be forts two out of total of 20 nuclear power reactors, as many India wants to build, to cover its increasing demand for energy.
It was also determined with the Agreement that one of the largest French companies in the field of nuclear energy “Areva” si to build two European pressure reactors, 1650 MegaWats close to city of Jaitapur in Indian federal state Maharashtra, agency AP reports.
Sarkozy, who arrived on Saturday in a four-days visit to India, accompanied by French ministers of finance, defence and foreign affairs will confer with highest Indian officials, to discuss among other things, the plan of structural international monetary system reform within Group 20 of developed countries and those rapidly developing, over which France currently presides.
