President of the Republic of Srpska Rajko Kuzmanovic has assessed that the opinion of the International Court of Justice regarding Kosmet does not mean an obligation for Bosnia-Herzegovina to recognize the independence of the Province.

President of the Republic of Srpska Rajko Kuzmanovic has assessed that the opinion of the International Court of Justice regarding Kosmet does not mean an obligation for Bosnia-Herzegovina to recognize the independence of the Province.

In belief of dignity and legal authority of the court we had been expecting the unilateral proclamation of independence to be declared illegitimate, said Kuzmanovic.

The opinion of counsel of the Hague court is not binding, so Serbia is not obligated to change its stance on the unilateral independence of Kosmet, pointed the President of the Republic of Srpska.

He stressed that the support to an ethnically motivated secession could have far-reaching consequences for the international stability and integrity of many countries worldwide.
