Italy's Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the adoption of the resolution co-sponsored by Serbia and the EU at the UN GA, underscoring that Serbia and Kosovo should now be given a fresh incentive for their integration into the EU.

The resolution adoption is a "positive political shift that confirms Europe's primary role in the stabilization of the Balkans," the ministry said in its statement, quoted by the ANSA.

It is underscored that the EU future is very important for overcoming regional crises in Europe. It is of fundamental importance that the EU continues to send out positive signals to Kosovo and Serbia in order to enable their concrete progress towards the integrations.
