Minister of Infrastructure Milutin Mrkonjic announced that the construction of a ring road around Vrsac will begin on 17 September, when the road Corridor 11 through Serbia will be promoted in the presence of European officials.

Minister of Infrastructure Milutin Mrkonjic announced that the construction of a ring road around Vrsac will begin on 17 September, when the road Corridor 11 through Serbia will be promoted in the presence of European officials.

Visiting the works on the northern branch of Corridor 10, Mrkonjic told the Tanjug news agency that the Vrsac ring road will cost around €15 million and that domestic companies have been contracted for the project.

This is another confirmation of the government’s wish to provide as much work as possible for Serbian construction companies.

In response to demands by construction companies for the government to increase the volume of work for them, the government decided to begin constructing a section of Corridor 11 from Belgrade to Vrsac and off to Timisoara, and in that sense it will begin works on this ring road next week, the Minister underlined.

Mrkonjic explained that the government has earmarked funds for the ring road, part of the future Corridor 11, which will connect Romania, Serbia, Montenegro and Italy.

At this occasion, a promotion of the entire corridor will be held in Vrsac in the presence of Italian, Romanian, Bulgarian and Croatian ministers and ambassadors from European countries taking part in the project, Mrkonjic concluded.
