Three or four firebombs were hurled at the building by unidentified assailants, who fled in the direction of the nearby University of Thessaloniki, police said.

Firebombs were thrown at the Turkish consulate in the northern Greek city of Thessaloniki overnight, but missed their target and the flames were quickly put out, police said Saturday.

Three or four firebombs were hurled at the building by unidentified assailants, who fled in the direction of the nearby University of Thessaloniki, police said.

A similar incident occurred on August 12.

No damage was caused in either attack, which police blamed on ultranationalist elements.
