Bulgaria-USA defense cooperation talks

Bulgarian Defense Minister Anyu Angelov met in Sofia with Gen. Terry M. Hasten, Adjutant General of the Tennessee National Guard and acquainted him with reforms in defense and with the Plan for the Development of the Armed Forces.

Gen. Haston said he appreciated the good conditions for work on the joint Bulgarian-American facilities in Novo Selo and in the national military training center of Charalica.

Minister Angelov and Gen. Haston also discussed the setup in Afghanistan and joint efforts in the ISAF operation where the Tennessee National Guard has a very strong commitment.

The two leaders agreed that there had been very successful cooperation so far, as well as an untapped potential for other formats of joint activities.
