Turkey has started building 18 joint projects with its neighboring countries for the construction of dams along its border rivers with Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, Iraq, Syria, and Iran.

The first sod at the construction site of the first dam at the Turkish-Syrian border will be turned on January 31. When all projects are over, Turkey will have dams on all of its borders except for its border with Armenia.

A trilateral meeting will be held in March in the Turkish city of Edirne between the prime ministers of Turkey, Bulgaria, and Greece, where they will discuss the construction of dams along their common borders.
