Friday meeting between the government officials and schools’ unions did not bring any agreement, and the talks will continue on Monday, January 24, when the schools will start legal strike.

However, it was agreed that the unions will submit a detailed plan of financial distribution they request from the government.

Representatives of all four unions conferred with ministers of Education and Finance, Zarko Obradovic and Diana Dragutinovic at the meeting that was held in the Finance Ministry and lasted for more than two hours.

President of the Independence Union Tomislav Zivanovic told reporters that about 300 schools will cut the length of the school hour to 30 minutes. Should the next week talks fail, about 1.500 schools could close their doors as of Friday January 28.
