The defence ministry announced on Tuesday  that a Romanian soldier has died in a blast in southern Afghanistan.

The defence ministry announced on Tuesday  that a Romanian soldier has died in a blast in southern Afghanistan.

Catalin Ionel Marinescu died of wounds from an improvised explosive device that blew up as he was inspecting a bridge in the province of Zabul. He is the second Romanian to die in Afghanistan in a week.
