The Electoral College took a decision for the complaints against the procedures followed by the Central Election Commission (CEC) for declaring the result of Tirana, by dividing the suit of the plaintiff in two parts. The SP asked the rejection of decision no. 709, dated 25.05.2011, which was taken by CEC.

According to the Socialist Party (SP), the verdict given one day ago by the Electoral College for the result of Tirana does not mean that this case is closed.

According to them, the Electoral College took a decision for the complaints against the procedures followed by the Central Election Commission (CEC) for declaring the result of Tirana, by dividing the suit of the plaintiff in two parts. The SP asked the rejection of decision no. 709, dated 25.05.2011, which was taken by CEC.

Both decisions of the Electoral College had as their focus the procedures that were followed by CEC while counting the contested votes. But now, the SP has another possibility of complaint. The last complaint that is being prepared by the SP’s lawyers is related to the declaration of the final decision by CEC on the municipality of Tirana.

Until now, the SP filed suit against the Electoral College only in relation to the mediate decisions and the procedural acts that were issued by CEC. Meanwhile, this time the Socialists are compiling their final complaint, that of inspecting the final decision taken from CEC.

The Socialist Party has time until Sunday to make this complaint, considering that the CEC decision was taken on Thursday, and the law foresees three days for complaints. But regardless of this last step, the SP has little hope in the Electoral College.
