Ministry of sea, transportation and infrastructure has issued a seasonal ban on construction on some parts of highways and state roads from 11 June through to 18 September.

The ban takes place every year during the tourist seaon in order to ensure safer and smoother traffic, portal Business writes.

Companies in charge of road constructions cannot carry out their work - apart from necessary road maintenance - during weekends (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays) as well as ahead of holidays.

Works on highways and state roads will be permitted during part of the season in order to finish construction that has already begun or the reconstruction of public roads.
