International Book Fair opens in Herceg Novi

About 50 book publishing companies from Serbia, Republika Srpska and Montenegro will take part in the fair, which will close on July 28.

The International Book Fair - 'Book Square 2011' opened in Herceg Novi (Montenegro) on Thursday.

About 50 book publishing companies from Serbia, Republika Srpska and Montenegro will take part in the fair, which will close on July 28.

The fair will be opened by Herceg Novi Mayor Dejan Mandic and writer Andrey Bychkov in front of the Church of St. Archangel Michael, after which the Collegium musicum academic choir will hold a concert under the baton of Darinka Matic-Marovic and under the auspices of Serbia's Consulate General in Montenegro.

On the first night of the fair, the novel Dipendra by Andrey Bychkov will be promoted, and commented by translator Ljubinka Milincic and literary critic Gojko Bozovic.

Friday, July 22, will be the day to mark the 50th anniversary of the awarding of Nobel Prize in Literature to Ivo Andric.
