“Together we vote for the removal of the tariff for imported goods in the clothing industry. Even this has two important implications: firstly, the empowerment of this industry and stopping the continual increase of clothes prices,” said Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
The changes to the customs’ fee, to the excise and the local taxes were evaluated as necessary moves, which should have been done long ago.
“The import tax for much-used vehicles had a positive impact in prohibiting low-standard vehicles to enter the Albanian market. This positive element during the recent years was not accepted by the European Commission, which set the obligation to remove the customs’ fee, which we considered as a tax on environment. Based on the way market functions and on our mentality of trading goods, this measure resulted to be non-efficient,” said Minister of Finance, Ridvan Bode.
During the plenary session, Prime Minister Sali Berisha talked about the increase of pensions and wages, and for the decrease of prices in the mobile telephony prices.
