Council of Ministers approved today a decision for increase of minimal wage in country scale by 5.2 per cent, compared to current minimal wage. Based on this decision, the minimal wage will be estimated at 20 000 leke per month. Every physical, juridical person is obligated to respect this decision.

Likewise, as a better protection for the employees working part time or extra working hours, it is envisaged a per hour payment of 115 leke.

According to wages system, employees profit extra payment for difficulties, health damage, special nature of work, seniority, etc., which amount at an average of 50 per cent of the basic wage. Therefore, calculating these extra payments, the wage of a simple employee in the state administration would amounts up to about 30 000 leke per month.

Based on this decision, the calculation of the new minimal wage will start since 1 July 2011.
