An agreement on cooperation and international legal assistance between the Justice Ministries of Montenegro and the Russian Federation was signed earlier today in Moscow by Justice Minister Duško Marković and Yury Chaika, Russian Prosecutor General.

This agreement, signed by the two central authorities for providing international legal assistance, creates a basis for a more efficient communication between the relevant bodies in legal cooperation between Montenegro and Russia.

The Agreement envisages activities aimed at better combat against crime and better protection of human and citizens’ rights. These activities will include consultations, exchange of information on legal systems, legislation and enforcement activities, joint research, conferences, seminars, round tables and training and education.

The signing of the agreement took place as part of the jubilee of 290 years of Russian Prosecution office. Montenegro’s Supreme Public Prosecutor Ranka Čarapić attended the ceremony.
