Jan 29 was an extremely successful day for Serbian sports after tennis player Novak Djokovic defended his title at the Open Championship in Australia, and the national water polo team took the gold and Serbia's handball team won the silver in two European championships.
Jan 29 was an extremely successful day for Serbian sports after tennis player Novak Djokovic defended his title at the Open Championship in Australia, and the national water polo team took the gold and Serbia's handball team won the silver in two European championships.
Djokovic lifted his third trophy at the Australian Open after beating Spaniard Rafael Nadal 3-2 in sets 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-7, 7-5.
The Serbian water polo team won a gold medal in the European Championship in Holland, beating Montenegro 9-8 (1-1, 2-3, 3-1, 3-3) in Eindhoven.
The Serbian handball team won a silver medal in the European Championship after losing 19-21 (7-9) to Denmark in Belgrade.
