Bilateral cooperation and cooperation in international issues will be the two main areas of discussion during the visit of US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton on Sunday, Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov told media.

Bilateral relations should not be reduced only to security issues, and that is why the sides will discuss anything related to the improvement of human contacts between Bulgaria and the United States, he said.

Mladenov added also that since the 1990s Washington has become Sofia’s key partner in a number of areas. He pointed in particular to the fact that the Bulgarian students at US universities form the second largest group among East European countries.

In terms of international issues, the focus will be laid on the Balkans and the Middle East.
