BiH: UWC launches competition for scholarships

The contest is intended for students of second grades of the four –year high schools in BiH, and will award a total of 25 scholarships. UWC scholarship covers the cost of a two-year training under the program of the IB (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, IB DP), including costs of accommodation, meals, textbooks and school supplies. Applications will be accepted until 12 March 2012.
UWC National Committee of BiH has launched a competition for scholarships attending attend the United World College (United World Colleges-UWC).
The contest is intended for students of second grades of the four –year high schools in BiH, and will award a total of 25 scholarships. UWC scholarship covers the cost of a two-year training under the program of the IB (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, IB DP), including costs of accommodation, meals, textbooks and school supplies. Applications will be accepted until 12 March 2012.
After the selection of successful candidates 22 scholarships will be awarded for attending UWC Mostar, and one scholarship respectively for UWC-USA (U.S.), Li Po Chun UWC (China / Hong Kong) UWC Pearson College (Canada).
UWC seeks students who are socially mature and morally responsible, and suitable candidate is a lively student that achieves good results in school and has a wide range of extracurricular interests. Important features include the ability of tolerance toward fundamentally different opinions and attitudes, and experience has shown that during the selection the most successful students are those who come with a clear picture of the goals of the UWC movement and a strong personal motive to contribute to them.
Following the acquisition of DP IB diploma, students of UWC college are offered a wide range of scholarships for university studies abroad, and during training they are ensured professional and university counseling.
All UWC are open with the aim to overcome various social problems in their environment, said the statement issued by UWC Mostar.
Let’s remind that the United World College today started with normal classes in Mostar Gymnasium.
