Serbia recorded a USD 54 million surplus in trade with CEFTA countries in January, primarily thanks to exporting agricultural products, according to the data of the state statistical office.

Serbia exported grains and related products, beverages, iron and steel, and imported stone coal, coke and briquettes, iron and steel, electricity, fruits and vegetables.

In January, Serbia exported USD 151.1 million and imported USD 97.1 million. for an import/export coverage ratio of 155.6 percent.

In 2011, Serbia had a USD 1.5 billion surplus, also mostly thanks to the export of agricultural products.

The CEFTA region is one of the few markets with which Serbia has a consistent surplus, and it is the second most important export market for Serbia, after the EU.
