A test mounting of the shell of the VVER-1000 reactor commissioner by Bulgaria for the first block of the Belene NPP was carried out at the Izhorsk works, Rosatom informs.

The technological operation was observed by a delegation of the Bulgarian national electric company. The reactor is planned to be ready for transportation by the middle of next month.

The two steam generators commissioned for the plant are also ready to be inspected. Meanwhile Bulgaria’s government still lacks a concrete decision on the future of the Belene NPP. Several possibilities are considered, one of them being the installment of the new reactor at the existing Kozloduy NPP.
