Bulgarian President Rossen Plevneliev will not take part in the meeting of heads of states from Central and East Europe in mid May in Yalta, Ukraine, the presidential spokesperson Maria Ivanova informed.

Bulgarian President Rossen Plevneliev will not take part in the meeting of heads of states from Central and East Europe in mid May in Yalta, Ukraine, the presidential spokesperson Maria Ivanova informed.

“The decision was made a long time ago and one of the reasons is the state of human rights in that country”, Ivanova explained.

The Presidents of Germany, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Austria, Italy and Estonia have already announced that they would not join the Yalta summit. Besides, the European Commission announced that no EU Commissioner would go to Ukraine for the matches of the European football championship.
