Greek President calls for mass participation in elections

President of the Republic Karolos Papoulias on Sunday called the citizens for "mass participation, a clear mind and clear selections" in the general elections, after voting at a precinct in Ioannina, northwestern Greece.

President of the Republic Karolos Papoulias on Sunday called the citizens for "mass participation, a clear mind and clear selections" in the general elections, after voting at a precinct in Ioannina, northwestern Greece.

"Elections are the ultimate moment of democracy. The citizen, with his vote, chooses for his future, the future of his children and his country," said Papoulias, and underlined: "We must have mass participation, clear minds and clear selections in order, from Monday, for Greece to move ahead.

Papoulias was accompanied by his wife, who also voted in the same precinct.
