Dinar strengthens against euro,rate at RSD 115.65

The dinar has strengthened significantly against the euro on Thursday, going up by RSD 1.01 when compared to its Wednesday level and thus setting the official middle exchange rate at RSD 115.6515, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) released.

Since the beginning of the year, the central bank sold EUR 288.8 million on the interbank foreign exchange market so as to ease the excessive volatility of the exchange rate on a daily basis.
The national currency reached its highest level on January 11, when the official middle exchange rate was RSD 103.6922.
Today, the dinar is 3.3 percent down on this time last month, and 14.6 percent down on the year.
On Wednesday, the indicative dinar-versus-dollar exchange rate stood at RSD 92.4399, reflecting a rise of 1 percent in comparison to its previous value.
The Serbian dinar has weakened against the U.S. dollar by 6.8 percent when compared to the level a month ago, and by 26.9 percent if compared to a year ago.
