Minister of Religion Bogoljub Sijakovic extended his Easter greetings to Serbian Patriarch Irinej, Belgrade Archbishop Stanislav Hocevar and all Christian believers.

Minister of Religion Bogoljub Sijakovic extended his Easter greetings to Serbian Patriarch Irinej, Belgrade Archbishop Stanislav Hocevar and all Christian believers.

The Ministry says in a statement that Sijakovic also sent his greetings to all metropolitans, bishops, the clergy and monks, as well as professors and students at faculties and schools of theology in Serbia, the neighbouring states and the Diaspora.

In his letter to the Patriarch, the Minister said that this holiday should encourage all to persevere on Christ’s path of victory of love over hate, good over evil and truth over lies.

In the times of greatest tribulations our church was of paramount importance for the Serbian people. We believe that with wise guidance it will remain so and that the joy of Easter will enlighten all who believe, Sijakovic stressed in his letter to the Patriarch.

The Minister also extended his greetings to bishops and believers of the Catholic Church.

In his letter to Archbishop Hocevar he wished all Catholics to spend this holiday in spiritual joy and peace, voicing his hope that the joy of Easter will shine in the hearts of all for the sake of faith, peace and tolerance, the statement adds.
