Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic thanked Foreign Minister of the Republic of Mali Moctar Ouane for his country’s principled support in the defence of international law in the question of Kosovo-Metohija.

Cvetkovic voiced the hope that Mali, as one of the leading countries on the African continent, will continue to support Serbia and that it will remain faithful to its position despite pressures to admit the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo.

The Serbian Prime Minister pointed to a long tradition of friendly relations between Serbia and Mali and expressed a firm commitment to their improvement, first of all in the fields of economy, agriculture, security, and cultural and educational cooperation.

Ouane said that Serbia can keep counting on Mali’s support in its efforts to preserve its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
