OSCE Secretary General Mark Perrin de Brichambaut has announced that the OSCE Mission in Kosovo would continue its work as mandated in a status-neutral manner, following the opinion recently issued by the ICJ.

"OSCE takes note of the advisory opinion issued by the ICJ. I want to emphasize that the OSCE Mission in Kosovo will continue its work as mandated in a status-neutral manner," he said.

According to him, the OSCE Mission will remain committed to the development of a democratic multi-ethnic society, andl continue to monitor and promote the rights of all communities living in Kosovo.

Furthermore, the Mission will continue to support and strengthen the democratic institutions that it helped to establish, the Vienna-based OSCE center released in statement.

The ICJ delivered the advisory opinion saying that Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence did not constitute a violation of international law.
