National Bank Governor Dejan Soskic has stated that the forthcoming talks with IMF will not be easy, but hopefully will end up successfully.

National Bank Governor Dejan Soskic has stated that the forthcoming talks with IMF will not be easy, but hopefully will end up successfully.

He told e national broadcasting service that in previous negotiations IMF had shown rather high level of understanding and flexibility for Serbian arguments, but the state must be prepared for the possibility that this time it might not be so.

The interest of the both sides is to finalize these talks in a productive manner, and Serbia must be persistent in fulfilling the obligations it had taken over in previous talks with IMF.

In view of the announcement of Minister of Economy Mladjan Dinkic that he will ask for the unfreezing of salaries and increased amount of financial aid to pensioners, Soskic has emphasized it would not be good to send the signals of Serbia trying to give on some obligations before the deadline.
